Checkers

Jump and capture your way across the board in classic English draughts against the CPU.

Controls: Mouse or touch, or arrow keys and Space

About Checkers

Checkers follows the English draughts rules. Your twelve red pieces start at the bottom of the board and move diagonally forward on the dark squares. Jump over a CPU piece to capture it, and keep jumping if another capture lines up. Taking is compulsory, so if a jump is available you have to make it.

Reach the far row and your piece is crowned a king, which can move and capture backwards as well as forwards. Easy mode suits a relaxed game, while Hard thinks several moves ahead and will set traps. Captures earn points and winning adds a bonus, with more on Hard.

How to play

  • Tap a piece with a white outline, then tap a gold dot to move there.
  • For a double or triple jump, tap each landing square in turn.
  • Get a piece to the top row to make a king.
